A new year is always a good time to refresh with a new start. If you have a business, but don’t have a website getting one created now is the perfect boost to kick the year off. If you have a a website, now is a good time to see if it needs to be improved.
As your business grows and changes your website should reflect that. Combing over your website and re-evaluating what works and what doesn’t is a great starting point to determine if your website should be redesigned.
When deciding if you need your website updated or redesigned, look for the following things:
- Check all of your website links. A broken link equals a poor user experience.
- Review your analytic data and see if it is fulfilling your objectives. Keeping up with analytics is a time-consuming and on-going process. This is one area that is worth paying a professional to keep up with.
- Check your website on different devices to make sure it looks right. If your website was created to be mobile responsive then chances are you will be fine in this area, but it is still good to check.
- Ask someone to go through your website to see if it flows right. A second set of eyes is always better. Let an unbiased person go to your website and let them navigate through your website. Not only can they tell what might be confusing, but they could easily tell you how you can improve your website for user experience.
- Remove old content. Nothing worse than having outdated information on a website for so many reason including misinforming your readers.
- Check all the images on your website. Make sure the images that are on your website still reflect your brand, target market, and objectives.
